Shipping is based on size and weight minimums and since cans are light it is only slightly more expensive to ship 12 boxes than it is 4 boxes.

Yes. Each pallet is capable of supporting 12 boxes. One example would be 4 boxes each of 12,16, and 32oz cans on the same pallet.
